Kevin D Brown was born and raised in Heyburn Idaho. The small town on the Snake River and near the Sawtooth National Forest helped foster Kevin's love of nature. A painting by his great grandmother Etta Perkel inspired Kevin to pursue art as a youth. He works primarily with oil and gouache. The early California plein air painters have been a source of inspiration with primary influence by Edgar Payne, William Wendt, and Granville Redmond. His mission is to reflect the different "moods" of nature and in expertly crafted art share a glimpse of the grandeur of the outdoors.

He was fortunate to study under the great painter and animal artist Leon Parson. His expertise in oil and composition influenced Kevin greatly. Kevin studied art and painting at Ricks College, now BYU Idaho, and Art Center College of Design in Pasadena CA. He received his Bachelor's of Art from Art Center in 2002. While at Art Center he was fortunate to learn from great painters and designers such as F. Scott Hess, Jeff Smith, Aaron Smith, and Gary Meyer.

Kevin is currently working as a graphic designer at Progressive Dairy Publishing in Jerome Idaho and continues to paint regularly. He is very excited and dedicated in pursuing art and expanding his expertise. Kevin and his wife Jackie live in Twin Falls, ID.
